The best thing to do is contact Free Schemes Section in the Dept of Social and Family Affairs and they will be able to advise you on this.

If your father is over 70 he will continue to get his free TV licence, ESB and Telephone Allowance regardless of who lives with him.

If he is under 70 he may lose them. Have a look here http://www.welfare.ie/publications/sw107.html

If he's getting the Living Alone Increase he may lose that too. http://www.welfare.ie/publications/sw36.html#sep

Hi. On the same line, but a different problem. I am in my 67th year and still working full time. I am getting contributary pension. My employers are thinking of making me redundant. Does anyone know if I will quailfy for statutary redundancy.

If you have been working with the same company for two years and 1 day you should get at least statutory redundancy. which is 2.5 weeks for each year of service

there is no cap on statutory redundancy.

According to CitizensInformation.IE "Since 8 May 2007 there is no upper age limit of 66" so you are entitled.

Some jobs have a statutory retirement age, but there is no legally define set retirement age.
