    Hello,

My brother has a dell system that is out of warranty. It had 2 disks in raid-0 (I believe). There was problems with the computer and it kept crashing and eventually became un-useable. We decided to un-raid the disks and more trouble occurred.

I now have one of these disks hooked up to my dell pc - automatically was slaved, and have reformatted.

What I want to do is fairly straight forward.
Prepare the disk to run as a master on my bros pc.
IE. Fix the mbr, load up XP sp2, and then throw it back into his pc and for it to start up automatically.

Now I tried setting it as the only disk on this pc, but no joy, no joy booting from a windows cd which confuses me terribly. Nothing happens, just hangs with a black screen.
    Any advice would be great.

This seems too obvious so i'm open to correction, why not just put the disk back into your brother's PC and reformat/install the O/S.
