Why not run RF2 to another room and then you can watch in either room? Why do you need the sub on two digiboxes?

    Or use a video sender.

It is only theft if they take it without your knowledge.

I think its good value. Sky charge Eur15.00 per month for multiroom on their channels. Setanta only one third of that price.

If you think it bad value then don't take the offer, if enough people do this then market forces will force a price change although I suspect most people will not think an extra five euro unreasonable.

I don't think €5 for a 2nd sub in the same house isn't that bad. Of course I would like it to be less or even better, free ;)

(which leads me to a slightly different subject what has always p'd me off over the years)

I can't stand the fact that the main sub in Ireland is €18 and in the UK its €14.76 (£9.99). All the rights for Ireland cost-wise are substantially less than that what you would pay for the UK rights and yet they have the nerve to charge us more. Even the 3pm Sat kick off games cant justify charging us more.

This of course also applies to Sky how are much worse than Setanta, where every single program, sporting event and movie cost so much less for rights for Ireland than the UK costs and yet they too have the nerve to charge us the euro equivalent of what UK subscribers are charged. I truly believe that Irish Sky subs should be easily €20 less than what we are paying at the moment. But because all we have ever had was Sky, nobody notices. :(

I've always had the small glimmer of hope of someday a company setting up using DTT here, getting all of the Irish rights for Sports, Movies and programs etc, and charging us appropriately. Yes, its wouldn't have as may channels as Sky but the channels would be of higher quality. I do believe if this happened then Sky would be blown of of the market here.

(Or maybe I'm just dreaming)

The reason rights for Ireland are cheaper is because there are far fewer viewers here to pay licence fee/subscriptions or generate advertising income. Sky, RTE or whoever have to pay less for Irish TV rights but have less opportunity to generate income from those rights.

Guys I'm a little confused about Setanta Sports Ireland - do you get it with Sky? I didn't think so but I have it and Sports 2. I thought it was €18?
Was all geared up to order it for the RWC..

All RWC matches will be on ITV1 and ITV4 which are free to air.
Ireland's games and the knockout stages will be on TV3.

Actually there was a pretty stupid article the other day in one of the newspapers along the lines of 'Rugby fans forced to pay out up to €400 to see World Cup' i.e. a year's contract with Sky and 2 months of Setanta, when all you need is a FTA system (like the €80 Lidl one.)

You don't get Setanta sports Ireland with sky. It's part of the Setanta subscription which is €18. Setanta Ireland is available on NTL without any extra subscription...

€18 Setanta (Irish) shows 3pm games

    £9.99 Setanta (UK) does not

Was just watching Setanta Ireland for the RWC buildup on Sky and it just disappeared. It was running last night no problem hence the confusion. I guess it was just spillover from a free view period or something.

Setanta have regular Free View periods where they will tempt you to subscribe.
