    this mite be a really dumb question-can the ps3 be used as an internet browser or is it just for the ps store and playing games online?can it be used to look any websites

    it's in the Network part of the xmb along with the store etc... just after Remote Play.

    i tried searching for websites on it and its always no results found.can i look up sites like boards.ie or yahoo and similar ones?

    You can use it the same as any PC although some sites wont load up. It says not enough cache memory.

    Same as the PSP.

    Is your PS3 actually connected to the net? If you are using a wireless connection you might have to adjust your network routers settings, or some of the network settings on the PS3 itself.
