    Hey all,
Does anybody know what company/ bank offers the lowest interest rate on credit cards? Particularly balance transfers?

    Many thanks.

(edit) Was actually just looking at the Tesco Credit Card and it seems reasonable, any body any experience?

Bank of Scotland / Halifax have a 0% on balance transfers for the 1st six months - reverting to 9.5% APR thereafter - can't say whether it is the cheapest in the market - but it is very good value.

I switched over myself when they launched the product

Beware the small print on the balance transfers... 0% is not always pay nothing on your purchases. It's usually no interest charged on the amount transferred for x months, but you'll still have to pay out a once off "transfer fee" of upto 5%.

Permanent TSB's ICE Visa runs at an APR of 9.9%, balance transfers are at 2.9% with no transfer fee.

    Things to note:

If you travel a lot look out for the foreign-currency fees (inside & outside eurozone)... cash-advance fees may be huge in some cards as well.
Get a letter from your current credit card company saying you've paid the government stamp duty on cards... otherwise you're liable for another €40.

First Active and Ulster do the best deals - 0% on transfers and purchases for 9 months.
