So I was thinking about getting the VFC HK416 for some time and I may be able to soon so I was looking into it. Here's the question, do they use M16 mags or is that my imaginatin playing cruel tricks on me. It'd be nice to be able to pick up cheap mags for a change if they do use M16 ones.

I have a love affair with HK anyway and the 416 represents the best they've produced as far as I'm concerned. I really want one.

No it really doesn't although externally it's a lovely gun. Internals are complete crap for a VFC. The AK's and Mk43's e.t.c have amazing internals but the HK416 does not :( - Further more it does not have a standard V2 mechbox, but can take V2 parts.

in real steel the 416 is just H&Ks updated M16 entered into the US army competion for the new infantry weapon , so M16 mags and grenade launcher should fit the Airsoft version, anyone got of review of the 416

I didn't know it had a poor record? The Mk43 is on my list to so maybe I should hold out.

I'm aware the 416 isn't the best HK have ever made, but I mean as a direct competitor to the M16 it's a fantastic unit. If for no other reason than practicality.

any ar15 mags are compatible with any other ar15 mags :)
the lower receiver of the 416 is the same as m4's etc

and i definitely recommend this gun. although early series had some gb issues, the finishing just makes up for it. greatly :)

I love the gun but like most people i had the same problems with the gearbox, in the end I've replaced it with a 7mm CA version all you loss is the bolt return mechanism.

just ? have a look at hkpro for info, in short they fixed many of the m16 problems and brought it together with the g36 to make a great platform, if i can recall it did not have anything to do with the competition, it was worked on by hk and a spec ops unit from the US, but all the info is on hkpro under HK416 its a good read.

Its a direct compeditior to the M4 not the M16, blows thew M16 out of the water, and probably is the best gun HK have ever made.

or just -the best gun ever made- :D
i suggest u guys make some research, theres nice demo videos on youtube etc.
that gun can shoot with dust and water all over it - without getting the poor grunt dead.

but talking too much bout RS stuff aint no good, this is an airsoft forum (oh, and paintball. sorry lads :))

Well the hk416 comes in a number of length and you also have the hk417 so it is more in competition withthe scar than the m4/m16 as its designed to correct there problems.

g36+m4 = hk416 its the super child of this relationship :)

Back to airsoft, great review thread on the hk416 can be found at arnies airsoft its a heavy read but well worth it, as it covers all the problems and what you need to do.

i have one of these HK416 from uncompany. HK416 DX with HK official grip, charger and battery. carried by UPS and total bill was 640 euro... so think about it before you really want it and HK416's battery[snayo 1700] pin need be modified as well, it is smaller that other adopter. to be honest, with that price, you really can do lot of things...
unless you have loads cash like me.. hehe;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,877 ✭✭✭liamo333

640! I got the same one for 533.

thats coz he got it shipped by ups... them are some fine rip off :(

edit about the scary arnies review :
its described as a piece of **** in there, but it sure isnt.
he criticizes the shims while autoshims are just a wonderful thing
i have no hopup problems with mine, and most of the inner parts arent the same, i think the US version isnt as good.

Well if you read the complete thread it balances out, a lot of people say the same as you.

How did the ca gearbox fit? Was thinking of getting a systema.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭Puding

As far as i'm aware any v2 will fit all you do is loss the function of the bolt cover return, no big loss in my books.

    .........................
is that means if i bought from wcg, i would not pay 120euro? or just ups, no matter what store i deal with. confused:

ups = rapists, they always make up new taxes and fees noone has ever heard about.
sometimes you receive a bill 3 months after parcel is delivered, lol.

personally i always use ems. theyre just damn fast, and reliable too.
(parcels take 1 or 2 days from HK to france, never got more)
