I searched found the thread by anonymous69 but didnt seem to answer my question. If i bring the laptop in laptop bag and hand luggage does the laptop count towards my 10kg allowance?

I would be amazed if it didn't. However, I have rarely had hand luggage weighed, so unless it is in a biggish bag you will probably be ok. Maybe someone else can give you better guidance though.

Leaving Irish airports, a laptop bag counts as a piece of hand luggage and you can have another piece of hand luggage too.

Leaving UK airports, the laptop bag counts as your only piece of hand luggage.

This seems to be more to do with UK Security controls than Ryanair though.

Your weight allowance is the total of all bags you check in (regardless of how many bags you've paid for).

    Hope that helps

Sleepy's post is bang on the money, but the laptop bag counts towards the weight of your carry on allowance. IE, they will allow you a laptop bag and a carry on bag, but both must come to equal to or less than the 10kg allowance.

And while they don't always weigh your carry on bags, they can and I've seen it happen.
