    Well Lads,

Myself and a few friends are planning on heading off traveling round SE Asia, Oz for most of a year and then hopefully come home through the US. We are planning to go to Korea, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Hong Kong and then on Oz.

Does anyone have any experience of doing this sort of a trip? Can you get open round the world tickets and if so how much are they generally?

Also how much money you reckon would be advisable to bring over? Im planning on working in Oz but not for the whole time.

    Any advice would be appreciated!!!

my round the world is 2200 euros and i'm only a couple of miles under the limit. think its 33,000 miles total. i'm going the opposite way to you and i'll probably have more stop offs than you. i'm using all 7 stops.

it's not open, you have to provide the dates of travel. but you can change them along the way by paying a fee. sometimes its as low as 20 euro, or it could be over 100.

i'm bringing 15 grand but i don't plan on working at all. so i'm sure you'll probably be okay with around 10 grand, maybe less if you budgeted everything

Which travel companies do these round the world tickets? For the 33,000 miles am I right in saying you can only stop in 7 different places?
