Five String

As often as I've said it, I'm again thinking of trading my Warwick in for a five-string, quite possibly another Streamer. I'd probably be going a little further up the range for it, so it could be pricey. I love the Warwick punch and growl, but before I commit myself totally, and I do have my eye on a bass, has anyone any further suggestions of basses that compare, for better money, with Warwick's attack and snarl?

Have you considered G&L ? While I'm not familiar with Warwick basses I know they are excellent guitars. However I'm sure a G&L L2000 would rival it in the "attack and snarl" department. Also they are a VERY versatile sounding bass.

Just played the new style MM 5 string with the 2 * double humbuker. Also the MM Bongo bass with the same pickup config. Its hard not to like either ones.

Y'know, something about the Musicmans never quite jangled me the right way...

Emmm, I've played Warwick and there great for there punch and always seem to have great flex with there pickups. For me the body is very small to carry the tone/sustane I like. some of the new MM and G&L have the larger body and the pickup config to rival most if not all of the Warwick basses.

But in saying that I would not say no to a Warwick Ltd edition Infinity bass :)

The Bongo, even if some say it looks like a toilet seat, the range of sound out of it is amazing. Its the one with the dual humbuker, I've to test run the Stingray5 with the Dual Humbuker to see if its just the pickup config...

Fender Jazz's are great, but I was going to get the M Miller Jazz5 but its limited with tone range.

What Warwick model do you have in mind?

Thing about a Warwick is, if I ever wanted to pick a bass with a tone to knock down a building, I wouldn't be picking a Musicman. ;) I have my eye on a Streamer 5 LX. I do love the Marcus Miller 5, hard to go wrong there, but I like my small bodies, and tbh, my Warwick arrived after three or four thousand miles and two and a half weeks in transit from California and the ****er was in tune, not a whole lot more to expect from a bass. ;)

    Nice bass.

Would you go for the $$ model? Oh, and in natural cause that look very nice!!!

As for the MM, each to there own I guess. You can always tell if a bass is road/tour worthy by sticking it on a plane!!!! Never left the MM in tune during flights to ease the stress, but it plays like it did in the shop..!
