i thought that this thread is long overdue

and i find it strange that other mac users arent takkin the heat issue as seriously as i am.

its just iv been saving for so long for a macbook, i expected it to be absolutely 110% perfection!thats it id say!

sorry for gettin angry here now lads!

but anyway, i have a couple of suggestions to reduce the heat issue:

    1.ilap -> http://www.macidol.com/assets/images/ilap_cushion.jpg

    2. now i dunno about this one now, but i think it might work, dya one those gel packs for reducing swelling, there normally blue, well i was thinking if u were to sit that in a tray or summit underneat the laptop it wood cool her down, but only introduce it once the laptop starts getting hot!

if anyone else has suggestions pleasse add, them im sure everyone wood be glad of your contribution!

but i dunno really, is it that where all such huge mac lovers that we kinda deny the fact that mac's have an issue with heat

    thanks for ur time

I have an iCurve. Use it on my C2D MacBook and have no real heat issues to speak of. Old MBP was a different story though:rolleyes: Bad apple I think more than anything.

I don't think that is the case at all, and I think there have been plenty of threads on this. Some people's heat issue is worse than others, its a simple as that.

Like I have said before, my last MBP was seriously bad, could barely touch the surface of it, nevermind have it on my lap. I found ways around it though, and little things that improved it here and there, and I just lived with it. New MBP barely gets warm, very happy with it. Each unit and each user is different, doesn't mean we don't take it seriously though.

you could crack it open and make sure the thermal grease is applied properly - this could have a drastic effect on heat output

....i'm still in G4-land, and intend on staying here until (if) they release a 12" MBP.....i have no heat issues with my PB, so i can't comment personally on intel macs

440Hz: I had a look at those cool feet you are always talking about. They may be functional, but they are damn ugly! Still looking for other solutions.....

But you never see them. Mine are under my MBP at work right now, working a treat :) I tend to just use the back ones.

Yeah sure, you never see them. But other people see them! And one of the things about macs is they make you look cooler! ;)

Not sure that would be the case with cool feet. Its a sacrifice I'm not prepared to make. I think I would rather burn my lap.

    Just downloaded and installed smcFanControl.

Best program ever. Now even when I do demanding stuff on my mbp it will stay as cool as a cucumber. (Excuse the expression I know its something my mother would say.)

Yeah I use smcFan and used to use QuietMBP as well, great little things altogether!

Hmm. As it happens I downloaded camino last night. I miss some of the features from firefox that I am used to.

Enlighten me then. Why should I stick with camino and not go back to firefox? What are the advantages?
