3 months free trial of Smart Broadband: http://www.smarttelecom.ie/residential_broadband_trial.html

Terms and Conditions apply. I'm not sure what these are. I think they were offering €75 if you connect as well, but this may be an alternative offer.

    Did they not go bust?

no they are still around if you can get them.

the offer is 3 months free trial but you have to take a 12 month contract with them so thats 15 months.

Alternatively if you sign up before end of this week you will get a cheque for 75euro (if you dont take the 3 month free trial - so only 12 month contract)

    I'm with Smart.

Their BB is good but their Smartvision TV package is appalling. Customer service was awful but has improved somewhat.

The offer looks good on paper but who's going to go through the whole LLU saga, lose their existing number and be without any internet access while the transfer is done to take advantage this offer?

What happens after the 3 months if you decide you don't want it?

It's all academic to me though 'cause I can't get it.:(

i am thinking of moving to Smart but they have no phone package associated with the BB. Do you use their phone service or Blueface or Skype?

For those who can get Smart, and are willing to agree to a 12 month contract, (that's standard for all Smart broadband customers anyway) the 3 months free is worth €120 (3 x €40.) I think that's a great saving, works out at €32 per month over the 15 months (€40 x 12 divided by 15.) A similar product would cost more than twice as much with Eircom at €73.76 per month (3mb Eircom broadband plus line rental.)

I have TV, BB and phone with Smart. That's the only choice in my neighbourhood altho Skype works well with it. No problem with BB and phone, it's just the TV is awful.

I had UTV internet in my last place and I found them good, I signed up online and because I had my own modem I was up and running in no time. I went for the Clicksilver 3MB always on option as I would download a lot and it was fast. I looked into all the ISP's in Ireland (can't remember what site compares them) and UTV had one of the best share ratios, ie they don't fill up the exchange with as many customers as possible.
I had all calls, inc Northern Ireland and UK, broadband and line rental for €45 a month, Oh and they have the best customer service I have dealt with.
My mum was one of the Smart customers that lost phone service earlier this year (or was it last year?) and I had an awful time trying to get a new provider, I would be very reluctant to touch Smart after that.

Looks like this has been sorted, finally. Move straight to Smart and keep your existing number.

Have a read of this thread.

Thanks for that. I stand corrected.:o

Haven't looked at that thread in a couple of days so didn't see Garfields post. Thats great news and anyone who can get Smart would be foolish not to.

    If only I could.:(
