I have started chatting to a girl on the internet with a similar fetish to me, we seem to have lots in common but she reckons that she needs a photo of me including my face before she talks to me anymore...Personally I don't want to give such information about myself as that but then again, I really want to keep talking to her and meet up with her...What do I do?

unless she's in the same area i wouldn't worry, could be embarassing though if she was a mates sister for e.g

Well, if a woman posted saying "I met this guy online. He has a similar fetish to me and I'm interested in meeting him but he won't even show me a photo of his face" I'd say she should hang back a bit.

In fact I have said this in the past.

Now, I can understand not jumping straight into that degree of information, but you should expect that much before you meet someone.

(And of course all the usual stuff about meeting in a public place, arranging a safety call, and so on).

If she's lives local, you could meet her in Real life... if she's abroad, I wouldnt' worry about sending on the pic.

There are two main reasons why she might want to see a photo of you

    1. It's nice to be able to put a face to the person you are getting on so well with online.
    2. She likes you but doesn't want to get any more involved unless she thinks you are attractive.

    Have you seen her picture?

If the two of you are getting on really well, and you don't live in the same area, letting her see your pic shouldn't hurt. Why not stall her a bit by telling her you will send her a pic as soon as your mate sends you a good one that you know was taken recently? If she is genuine, she'll cut you some slack and you may be able to find out why it is so important to her to see your photo. Then send her the best one you can find :-)

    Good luck

    2. She likes you but doesn't want to get any more involved unless she thinks you are attractive.
    3. It cuts down on the time-wasters. Time-wasters are more likely to send no photo, a false photo or a photo of their knob that doesn't show their face.

    4. It's part of her safety precautions. Ideally if you meet someone you've met online you should have enough information on each other that the cops could track the other person if they did something but not so much that you could track them yourself - pretty impossible balance to get perfect if you are easily traced, but a photo is a good part of getting to that. She's particularly likely to be aware of that if she's into a fetish as the OP says since so many fetish sites and publications emphasise the importance of safety (though they apply to vanillas just as much). For that matter if she's into a fetish the number of time-wasters she's likely to have come across may be higher too (going on anecdotal comparisons between kinky and vanilla friends).

Of courses the OP is also trying to get the balance of information shared right on his part. If he's convinced she actually exists (rather than being a troll), then she's going to see what is face is like sooner or later though.

Agreed, sending the photo was the right thing to do here. You want a girl to agree to meet you without even knowing what you look like? Not going to happen. And if it did, the girl would be so naieve that she'd be a danger to herself!

Let us know how ya get on! :)

    Hi Op

You are wise to send the photo, I've done some online dating in the past and personally I have insisted on photos for safety and practical reasons, and I work on the premise no photo no meeting up regardless of how well we got on, but if there is a good rapport between you both you should be safe enough. Best of luck

Tbh this is really bad advice when dealing with online meetings, if someone starts giving me the run around and stringing me along I immediatly become suspicious, so I personally would not advocate stalling tactics, they are liable to backfire.

Sorry to hear that your friend hasnt replied to you since you have sent her the photo but just look at it this way at least you can eliminate her from your list and focus on something or someone else. I totally agree with you sending her a picture afterall it does put a face to a name but if she is totally caught up on whatever way you look then really its not worth it :)

Ive talked to many people over the internet and alot of people lie and tell you that they are something they are not. Always get a picture :)

It's only a few days. You never know, she may be busy.
