    Hi everyone,
im new to this site. I really enjoy camping and was wondering do any of ye know of any specific websites or any clubs around the country that deal with campers.

For example, I know camp sites generally have seasons but I would love to do camping to an extreme level. Push it as far as I can. Also dome tents are all the rage at the moment but i can't help still having a gra for the ould frame tent (especially the big ones)

Anyway any advice would be greatly appreciated especially any clubs around the cork area

    Thank a mill

In extreme terms, I've seen people in tents on the summit of Lugnacoilla, I imagine Brandon and Carrauntuthail would be potentialy do-able or a bivvy at least.

The most extreme I've personally heard was Nightmare Ledge in Glendalough - two guys bivvied there. Climbed up at night, one guy knew what he was at, the other had never been in Glendalough before....

I've camped in the hag's glen several times and all over Glenamlure and Glendalough - Vango Force Ten ftw.
I only went camping with friends who were in scouts or the climbing club in College, can't help you with sites or links sorry.

Low level camping I've done in Ceantarr na nOillean Connemara and Gola off bunbeg in Donegal

and I've stayed in the campsite on Arainn and in Doolin
and in 4 Star campsites on the continent

What sort of camping do you have in mind?

Nightmare ledge? Jesus Christ that would be uncomfortable. Suppose if you're training for bigger bolder things it might be an idea but I wouldn't do it for kicks. We're the benighted or was it intentional?
