Cant Create a Data CD, Please Help!

    Ok, so I wanna upgrade to Linux, and I have downloaded the .iso file and I need to burn it to a blank disc which can then be used to install the hardware. Trouble is, I cant get my computer to burn a data cd (or any kind of cd for that matter). Ive been using Nero, and it just keeps making image files, because apparently my D Drive is not being recognized as a driver that has the ability to burn cds. Ive only a D Drive, I have a Windows XP Dell Optiplex x260N and was wondering if anyone knew of any ways or programmes I could install on the computer to get it burning data cds!

    You want to burn the ISO as an image not a Data CD, make sure your CD-RW drice is working correctly - try reading from a CD and make sure there are no warnings in the Device manager.

    thanks for the heads up, i use infarecorder to make an image of the .iso file, but when i try and create it it justs tells me there are no recorders present? any ideas?

    I often use this Windows add-on to burn ISOs. Just right-click on the ISO file for the option to copy it to CD. It does all the work.
