Hey Folks,

I was wondering if anyone knew what type/genre of music is at the start of BSG. It does like a synposis of the series in like 30seconds and it has drums in the background. They sound similar to taiko drums. I was hoping to get more material similar to this so I can stick on the iPod for the gym.

you should be able to buy the BSG season 1 & 2 sound tracks in town, try Tower records i think have allot of soundtracks or advance vision if the one in dunleary is still there.
Season 3 sound track is delayed

According to wiki - it is a brahmin chant, preying for protection from the 'gods'. Which I think is pretty cool, given the brill mythology stuff they employ! And isn't brahmin religion one of the oldest too?

From what little i've heard, im warming to tracks 7 & 9 (both in Unfinished Business), 13 (in The Passage), 14 (in Taking A Break from All Your Worries) and of course that version of All Along the Watchtower.

emm its for sale now on amazon i ordered it, its down as shipped, when i was buying it i didn't have to click prebook this item, i ordered several things and the only thing that told me was not released yet was dylen morens new dvd so its defiantly released. i cant wait till i get what a soundtrack

The music is one of the best things about the whole show. My fav track from the series is from season 2. "prelude to war", kicks ass. Love the real heavy drums.

The guys name is Bear McCreary (odd name) but I don't think he did the earlier season 1 stuff.

Dont know anything about getting the real soundtrack but there is a free copy of part of the Beyond the red line Mod game. It sounds damn good and is very like the series sound.

Most of the "Hero" soundtrack is quite similar to the intro music, and is very cool for the gym

Hi Folks,

I was just wondering if anyone has an answer for the origional question regarding the genre of music as Im looking for just the drums part for listening to in the Gym not any of the other musical pieces from the BSG score. Even something very similar would be good, any suggestions?

The woman that does the intro music did a concert down here in UL earleir in the year. She's is Iranian apparently.
