    Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to join lead flashing to my side of the party wall without my neighbours permission?

    Thanks,

    MDW

It would the decent thing to ask as the wall run off will end up on his side of the wall i'd imagine. How exactly is the junction being formed

Thanks thats what i thought. Basically the builder informed me that I was allowed to attach the lead flashing to the party wall. My neighbour says that I can not attach anything to the jointly owned wall without his consent.

Basically the lead flashing is attached to our extension wall about 12 inches above the height of the party wall then wedged down between the extension wall and joined to the party wall on our side with very strong glue.

The builder never told us about this and we never told our neighbours and they are saying we can not join anything to the party wall is this true.

    Thanks

    OP: when u posted

in the legal section, you made it look as if you were the aggrieved party.

This post makes u look as the 'aggreiving party'.

This problem you have is effectively a legal issue and as I have stated on quite a few occasions in the past we don't do legal advice here. I can see the reason for asking the question here but really and truly you should ask your solicitor.

If anyone else wishes to offer an opinion perhaps they would PM the OP as I am locking this now.

EDIT: On further investigation I see the OP has previously posted this and other questions previously on the legal discussion forum where they were rightly advised to see a solicitor. But instead of seeing a solicitor the OP starts a thread here instead.

Its no wonder I dont want debate on this type of situation. And from now on everything that has a hint of legal implication will be deleted and red cards issued if necessary. I am not tolerating this type of behavior from any user here.

    Red card for mdw.
