    hey lads,

This is yet another thread about Mondeos.

I was looking at a 01 Mondeo with 110K miles on it for €8650. It has a Ford service history and a friend of mine who knows what hes doing had a look over it for me and he thinks everything seems to be ok with it.

My question is what do people think of the price, will the car last and be worth anything for a trade in in a few years time?

    Thanks

The same cars are currently listing on carzone for €4500 and one white estate for €3500 so I would say its overpriced.

Overpriced. Even in perfect condition, do not cross the 7k mark. For 8.5k you should be looking a much newer car????

If it is a Zetec, it is a little over priced, depends upon if it trade or private ,as to by how much. I sold one a few months ago, for 8K with 93k miles on the clock. with new tyres ,NCT and serviced. If it is an LX it is way over priced.

Mondeos are bought dirt cheap second hand. That is way too expensive for a 6 year old one.

A guy at work bought a 01 Mondeo 1.8 Zetec with 100k last year for €4k. One company driver/owner from new and full FSH. Even a diesel should only cost around €1k on top of that.

Shop around, your bound to find something cheaper.

    Thanks for all the replies.

I'm buying the car from a garage. From looking at carzone it seems its reasonably priced, not the cheapest but not way over priced either. I also want to trade in my own car so overall I think its an ok deal.

The 1.8 is petrol right? They seem to go alot cheaper than a diesel. Even though looking at carzone they are still pricey enough.

I am obvoiusly going to try to get the price down a bit and get a good warranty.

A similar condition & year diesel Mondeo should not cost nearly twice as much though.

Just to put the rip off of the one you are looking at into perspective have a look at these:
