I've got a spanking new PC with a Gigabyte DS4 a SATA WD500 GB HDD and a LG SATA DVD-R.

The problem is I keep getting "Disk Boot Failure, Insert System Disk and press enter" even when I have my authentic Vista DVD in the tray..resluting in me not being able to install my OS

I've checked the BIOS and SATA ports are configured to work as IDE mode and SATA Devices are enabled...

    Has anyone any ideas?

did you change the boot sequence in the BIOS?

Sounds like you need to change the boot order so that it looks at the cd drive before the hard drive. Check in the bios under boot order.

It was the first thing I did.

EDIT: One thing....it's read by BIOS as a CDROM, not as a DVD ROM. Could it possibly be a faulty Drive? In Boot order the options are HDD and Bootable add-in cards. I presume this is ok?

Never mind. It was a faulty drive. Komplett!

    All sorted now. Cheers.
