Paddypower dont know Westmeath have been reinstated to the top tier of hurling. Thats a disgrace in my book.

Is it not just the 12 teams? I was away for the year but was sure it was just the five Munster, five Leinster (Kilkenny, Wexford, Offaly, Dublin and Laois) and Galway and Antrim. Pretty bad on Paddy Powers part if thats not the case.

12-1 is a great price for Limerick. I usually wouldn't bet on my own team, but at 12-1 I think I'll get in on a piece of the action. :) They'll have the same team as last year, plus the experience of playing in the Final to carry with them. Certainly can't see why Galway, Cork, and Waterford are much shorter odds tbh.

KK were head & shoulders above everyone this year, 7 points is as close as anyone got to them and with motivation of overtaking Cork its hard to see anyone else beating them.
I'd wonder if Waterford will deep down feel that their chance is gone, Cork need a few new players to freshen them up and Limerick (IMHO) are 4/5 players off being an AI winning team.
Not much value in backing KK though.

I'm still confused about Westmeath too. I had heard that the GAA had changed their minds and let them come up from Christy Ring but haven't seen definitive confirmation of this, anyone know for sure??

It said on the evening sunday game programme(3 weeks ago) that they have been invited into the senior leinster championship due to their success in the CR cup (2 wins in 2 attempts). They will take that up it'll do them no good beating Carlow, Meath and Kerry by 20-30 ponits when they can win against Offaly, Antrim, Laois and Dublin.

Any idea what format the Championship will take with Westmeath in it?

Probably a 4 team quarter final between Dublin, Laois, Offaly and Westmeath, with the winners facing KK and Wexford in the semis.

    My example.

    Dublin v Laois __________________ Westmeath v Offaly
    Dublin win _________________ Offaly win
Winners face Wexford _______________________ Winners face Kilkenny

    Dublin v Wexford ____________________________ Offaly v Kilkenny
    Dublin win ________________________________________ Kilkenny win
Dublin face Kilkenny in the final _________________Kilkenny face Dublin in the final

    Dublin v Kilkenny
    Dublin win
Dublin win their first Leinster title in 47 years
    Dublin are in AI semi-final

Wishful thinking, I know. But the format would be something like that. The results will be different of course.
