Whats the best way to find any cracks in cymbals? I've had my cymbals a while now and they don't sound the same at all! Is it cracks or just wear?

The best way to look for cracks would be to turn the cymbal over and look at the underneath side in some light...
Pay attention to the area where the bell of the ctmbal is and all around the rim of course....ya might find it useful to run your finger along the rim all the way around the cymbal...if something feels in any way jagged....take a closer look.

Yeh I've tried that all right i was wondering if there are underlying other effects that might modify the sound aswell?

Usually i get 2 different frequencies when I hit the cymbals, one which sounds direct and one that sounds like its reverberating from somewhere else(which it isn't). Its annoying but it could be just the surronding room I suppose?

It might be just the cymbal vibrating off the wing nut causing the odd reverb
