Plug the y adaptor into one of the audio ports and the speakers into another.

Well you see it may be unpredictable since the source isn't HDMI, I won't know...

I have the same setup at home.

I'm trying to remember exactly how they connected, but I know my 360 audio is coming through my PC speakers - via the audio input in the back of my PC.

Then again I'm not sure really what you're asking. Do you need have to go and buy speakers, or do you have any?

How much money do you want to spend and does the cable have the optical output for audio?

I bought those speakers in Harvey Norman for use with my PC monitor. There excellent but those qnyone know how to select analogue audio output, as my settings says its outputing in dolby digital, but im using the red and white leads to connect to my speakers. Im pretty sure im only getting a streo signal to the speakers instead of a surrond sound one. I hope Im making sense. Thanks in advance for the help.

I assume by "audio y adaptor" you mean just a normal RCA adapter and not an optical output?
If thats what it is, I'd probably just get a cheap 5.1 Creative set.
