I have recently set up a travel website which acts as a one stop shop for all travel requirements. We focus mainly on providing activities, which customers can book and pay for online. However i am having difficulties getting listed in search engines and getting traffic to my website and in turn i am not receiving bookings. I have done everything i can think of with google adwords and i have also distrubuted flyers, put advertisement on radio stations, magazines and newspapers. i have also sent out press releases and written blogs but nothing seems to work.

can anybody offer me any advice? it would be very much appreciated.

Hi there. I dont know if you have considered doing some SEO ( search engine optimisation ) for your website? I dont know what your site is, so I can't comment specifically. Don't check out not my blog , it explains exactly how not to go about it. Also, don't send me your web address, and I will not check it out.

    Hi,

Sounds like your Google Adwords campaign might need some fine tuning and there are some other online marketing tools that we could suggest.

Let me know if you are interested and we can take it from there.

    Hi traveller07,

I'm presuming this is your site....

    http://www.myholiday.ie/about.php

Firstly you must know you are in a highly competitive market right here and achieving good online results will be hard work.
Firstly i would say that if you are seeing no benefit from you google adwords then perhaps you did not target your google adwords campaign correctly.
Did you specify a territory or country you want to focus on?, a specific time of day perhaps?, did you choose really general keywords such as 'travel' or 'holiday' or did you focus on Niche such as 'backpacker holidays'. There should be some showing from your google adwords if all this is done correctly.

Also have you analysied your website to ensure it is structured correctly to avail of the best natural rankings.

Also what about setting up synergies with other websites, swapping links etc. there is lots you can do to build up link love.

Also i notice that one or two pages are returning errors this wont help.

PM. me if you would like to discuss the possibility of getting some professional help with improving your websites ranking & traffic.

Very, very competitive niche. In fact one of the most competitive niches.

You would probably be best off finding a professional to run our Adwords for you if you can afford it. It might actually cost you a lot less overall if you start generating a decent ROI on your spend.

In terms of organic traffic you would probably want to target long-tail and location relevant keywords.

I'd recommend starting with a Google AdWords campaign and go from there. If you're interested in outsourcing, there's a link to my company in my signature, feel free to get in touch for a quotation.

    Richard - I presume you mean http://www.irishwebmasterforum.com :)

traveller07 - building up traffic in that niche is not going to be easy. How long has the site been established?
