    Hi Guys,

I have a new 07 bike (R1) but I'm not sure about the present color scheme and look of it. In hindsight i should have gone for the black instead of the blue.
I want to get the bike painted.... can you recommend any good bike paint specialists out there ?
I was warned that since the bike has not been crashed etc... and is in showroom condition still i should go to a reputable paint specialist who can provide a certificate indicating that the only reason for the change of color is that i want a different colour. This will maintain the value of the bike im told.
I'm considering duacti red against the new r1 which i reckon would be stunning.

Unfortunatly non-standard paint jobs will just devalue a bike. I chipped (two small little ones) the paint on my old bike and I was told that it would be best just to leave them rather than getting the bike repainted.

When people buy bikes like R1's they look for a standard machine, it doesn't matter what paperwork you have once they see it has a non standard paint job they start getting suspicious.

Well i would agree in part. I've seen a few guys with custom paint jobs on fireblades that they bought second hand. Obviously hadn't stopped them.
I mean you can tell a downed bike...... and i do not ride my bikes hard. I treat them with a lot of TLC. Kept in garage, used daily to and from work, and weekend blast.
Surely if I was to do something like what this guy has done it would not detract from the value of the bike.....
I was planning to involve my dealer in the paint change so he would have a record that it had not been downed and if i decided to sell would not hit me in depreciation...

    its stunning.
I went for this years blue, alternatively i could get it painted to the same as this years black. At least that way i would be keeping with the stock colour scheme ?

    its stunning...

    Fack!!! That is beautiful.

If I were you, I would get it painted in the replica Kawasaki zx10r colours, complete with sponsor stickers etc.

    Just for a laugh.
