i suffer from generalized fear and anxiety on a daily basis, which is due to stress from work, college, debts, social etc. i don't get out much. often i fear going out at all, i feel its safer at home, the only place i can find comfort.

any advice or tips to help with this?

Make an appointment with your gp and see if they will do a home visit.

    Wello
Ive suffered with panic attacks a long time now
and if i was to give you any tips i would definitly
have to say repition is key i use to be unable to leave the house
a one point the anxiety was so bad but i just kept forcing myself
to go out to the a shoping center (which was a worse fear at the time)
and i just kept doing it day after day eventualy you start to think why the hell could i not do that last month you just have to break out of your
safety zone. Its not paticularly easy but its the only thing that will work.

And talk to your gp but dont take the easy way outif they offer you some meds and you dont think you need them if its not that bad maybe just ask for the lowist dose of what ever it is that may be all you need to give you some controle over your anxiety.

good advice from Killbarrick... get help from someone... first step would be to tell your parents or brother/sister, or anyone you trust.. if you dont have that option go to a GP and ask for counselling

there is one really important thing to note, however much fear and anxiety you feel right now, it passes and over time you can change

positive mental attidute is the most important thing to help you recover, look in the mirror and smile at yourself when you are at your worst. if you can do that 10 times you will feel better

remember everyone suffers from some level of anxiety, its just how you deal with it, you need to teach yourself how to manage it better

medication could be an option but that is really a personal choice

find something that makes you happy or work towards a goal, this takes your mind of day to day feelings of stress

when you feel anxiety coming on, put on comfortable clothes, eat some chocolate, smoke a cigerette or do something else that makes you relaxed

excercise / work or study until you have no energy to feel anxiety, dont be idle this makes it worse

hope some of this helps :P

Well, first off, take care of yourself. This is not a time to blame yourself for your problems. If you feel anxious about things, then maybe it's time you tried to slowly take care of the problem. You have come here for help, which is a step in the right direction. However, please, for your own health, be careful whose advice you accept...

Music therapy, food therapy, drama therapy. These are all easy alternatives to pharmaceuticals.

I am on medication. Too much, so I would advice you to try and leave it as a last result.

All the best with overcoming your anxiety. It is quite possible that you will be able to do so as soon as you are able to. There is no point striving for anything else. Take care.
