I was wondering if someone could give me the low down on the different gases used in GBBs. I've bought a TM desert eagle .50 AE hard kick and the reviews I've read recommend 134a due to the guns plastic nature. I had planned on using propane and an adapter, but would rather the gun didnt' explode in my face.

HFC134a is "regular" gas, can be used in almost all gas guns.
If you use it in a gun with a metal slide, you might not get a decent blowback effect.

Green gas is higher powered, and is the same as propane. Be careful using it with ABS guns - some can take it, some cant. I believe some metal guns cant take it either, but most can.

If you use propane and an adapter, you should spray some silicon oil into the propane tank's nozzle before attaching the adapter. Green gas has lubricant already mixed with it, whereas propane is dry.

Red gas is the most powerful of the four you mentioned. I've never used it, but as well as being careful your gun wont be damaged, you'd also have to be careful it doesnt bring your gun over the 1J legal limit.
