SD Memory Card issue

    Hi

I have a Canon A620 Digital Camera and have just bought a 4GB Transcend SD card. When I put it into the Camera it gives me a message saying "Memory Card Error". The card from the looks of the packaging is from Hong Kong\ Asia [funky writing that I cant read :o ]

Does it matter if the card is from Hong Kong\Asia? Is there any restriction on the size of the SD card that can be handled by the camera. I wasn't able to find anything on google so assumed there was none. :o

4 gb means its hc sd, high capacity. and yes it will work in theory. try format it in your pc, to fat32, might fix it...otherwise its prob a dodgy card

    Thx melekalikimaka

I will have to wait until middle of the week unfortunately to get hold of a Card Reader so that i can format it that way.

If it is a SDHC card (and not all 4GB Sd cards are HC) then it wont work in the A620. Unless the specs for the specifically mention SDHC you can assume it wont accept them. As the A620 was released nearly 2 years ago and the specs only mention SD cards then you can be pretty certain it wont accept SDHC cards.

Do you have a link to where it says it takes SDHC cards? Every spec sheet I can find using google only mentions SD cards. The spec sheet on amazon.co.uk specifically says that it doesnt take SDHC cards.
