Will I qualify?

I have a back injury which my GP says does not allow me to work. I did work for a couple of months last year, but as I was in an office sitting down all day I had to give it up. I claimed for sickness benefit, but because I wasn't working before I left the UK I didn't have enough contributions. So I asked my GP how long my injury was likely to last. He sent me for xrays and decided it was general wear and tear, and it wouldn't get better, only worse.

I applied for disabilty benefit last October and was sent for a medical in april. I was denied it as the doctor decided my disabilty had/was not going to last 12 months. That was because at the time I had only been on the sick notes from the doctor for 11 months.

I appealed and went for another medical last week. Since the last medical I had been referred to Cappagh hospital rhumatology dept and the specialist there diagnosed me as having Myofacial Pain Syndrome. I took the report and gave them a copy along with a referral to beaumont physio dept and hydrotherapy.

The reason I am wondering if I will get my benefit is I am running out of money, my best friend in the UK has been helping me, but there is only so much he can do. Does/has anyone else had this disabilty and how have they managed? all replies welcome. thanks
