Really... is it that good? I caught a few episodes of it, and thought it was cheesy formulaic muck.

I enjoyed the first season but I thought that the second season was very average. They spent way too much time on the wives and army politics whilst the missions weren't as good as the first season.

A big fat 'meh' from me. managed to finish s1 but never bothered with the second.

Its a fun show, but I could take it or leave it.
The last few episodes of Season 2 were excellent.

It's a bit of a "take it or leave it" type of show. I stopped watching for a while and then, recently, came back to season two. A lot of average episodes which shot up in quality towards the end. The end, incidentally, should make for an interesting third season assuming they don't just ignore it.
Some of the action sequences can be good but the army wives sub-plots can be quite dull and the characters a bit too pious at times.
