Its on this weekend has anyone been there previously? If so was it worth going to?

I'm hoping to start a self build house in the next months and I was thinking of heading up. Cheers

If you have planning permission i.e. you have house plans, then its definitely worth the trip. I was only submitting my last year when it was on and didn't feel I got as much from it as I could have. I'm looking forward to going next weekend.

I went to the one in Millstreet in Co.Cork 2 years ago we were just after getting planning. I am still referring back to some of the brochures & business card I got there as we are still trying to finish the house. You meet a lot if suppliers in one place & you get ideas. Well worth the visit.

    Hi..
Its is well worth a visit... Its a good chance to pitch some suppliers against each other and see their products side by side.. Bring a few sets of plans along with you...

    Cheers

I would recommend you print a large number of your plans.. put your name and number and email on them, and hand them out to any company you want to get further information/quotes from.
I went to one in Ennis last year and they were impressed that i came prepared with copies of plans. that way they meet you in person, review your plans, ask appropriate questions and then give you good valuable information and accurate quotes.
Take all the brochures.. Bring a bag to carry them ( saw a few doing that and wished i'd thought of it).

I see their making a copier and printing service available this year so you can make copies of your plans. It'll be a free service I'm sure....

Went to this on Saturday as I just got planning permission last week. A real good exhibition with lots of interesting stuff...

    Well Catered for...

Solar, UFH, Geotherm, Wood Pellet Stoves
Home Automation and Smart Home type stuff (About 6 different stands for this !)
Windows (A shed load of windows firms there !)
Natural Stone Suppliers (Again a stack of these)
Central VAC suppliers (Must be the in thing, again about 6 or 7 different firms)
Slates, Insulation, Garage Doors, Stairs, Hot tubs, Saunas

    A little light on ...

Bathroom and kitchen stands, only three of each I think.
Lighting... not a single decent stand that I can think of, disappointing..

The hand crafted oak staircase on display by english heritage oak was 60,000 euro..... I needed a drink after that !

    baud.

ps - who was it from boards running around with the bright red rucksack ? Fess Up !
