I was out in Doolin taking advantage of the excellent scenery over there, however the sky is way too bright in nearly all of my shots.. Can anyone advise me how can I do anything to adjust it? See below as an example.. Please feel free to edit it ..

No only the jpeg.. Only shooting with a Sony H2 so limited in what I can do

Limited by the fact that lots of it is blown out. You may be able to work with that some how tho. I'll have a think about how I would go about messing it up...

Have you thought about replacing it with a different sky?
*Ducks as other forum members throw fruit (still in the cans)*

there is a continuous line of white across the sky try some moody clouds.

serious suggestion. I tried it once on a pic and it worked out really well.

    ^hurls bean tin...
thats not a bad idea. You could be very arty and have some interesting local (or person) landmark overlaid on the sky either.

I really should stop at this but:

    1) played with shadows/highlights
    2) upped the contrast slightly
    3) applied a blue filter over everything and left in luminosity (I think).

Thats really great calina thanks.. I'll give something like that a go..

Now who can tell me how I can take a pic like that and not be an idiot and blow out the sky totally.. I dont have any filters etc..

Does you camera give you a histogram?
you can use the histogram to check that you havn't saturated the sensor.
    Have a read of this:

Cool, I dont have the PS skills to replace the sky :( but think i have a magazine with a tutorial on it somewhere...
I know this may sound stupid, but would it work if i cropped the sky?

yes try cropping out the sky I have tried here and then select the remaining white using the magic wand tool
    create a new layer
put a blue to white transition in the selected area in the new layer.

then play around with levels then use the dodge tool

thats what I did with the attachment here sorry but i went a bit over board with the dodge too :o

I replaced the sky with one I took outside the front door last year just in case I ever needed it ;) A small bit of levels and cleaning with the eyedroppers in levels, I took the saturation of the sky down a bit too. A bit rushed so there are a few bits on the horizon that need cleaning up.
