    NFC East winners: Eagles(very hard too call between them and Cowboys)
    NFC North winners: Bears
    NFC South winners: Saints
    NFC West winners: Seahawks(Close one too, should be a great battle with Rams and 9ers in with a shout)

    MVP: Tom Brady
    Offensive Rookie of the year: Adrian Peterson
    Defensive Rookie of the year: Not really sure, merriweather might step up too the plate now though.

    Most Improved team: 49ers. I expect a better showing from the Panthers and obviously the steelers.
    Most imrpoved player(predict a break out year for anyone(not rookies though): Vernon Davis would want to imrpove on last year i think. I'll get back this one! :D

    Oakland Raiders

    Season record: 5-11
    Best player: I think Culpepper will do well for us, looking forward to Jordan/Phodes combination
    Best rookie: Zack Miller
    Most looking forward too seeing: Mike Williams, he could be a beast for us in years too come.

    General thoughts: Wanna see how Matt Schuab gets on in Texans, he cost them alot too get for someone so unproven. The Jags/Gerrad situation will be interesting. Considring Leftwich has started all preseason games its a very strange time to cut him. I think he could be an excellent pick up for the Lions too replace Kitna.

    I agree, I think Favre is getting brittle and without him the Packers are toast. 13-3, sorry can't see it, they face the Eagles,Chargers and Bears in Lambeau and have a bunch of tough road games including visits to the Bears, Cowboys,Broncos, Rams and maybe the Chiefs(well they are tough to beat in Kansas) and while they do have easier games against the likes of the Vikings, Lions,the Panthers and Raiders, I just can't see the Pack losing just 3 games, now if you had said 10-6, that may be possible, but that means no home field advantage.

    As for seeing, the Packers winning the NFC championship game ahead of the Seahawks, 49ers, Saints, Eagles and Cowboys, very very unlikely, but then to see them beating the best of the Colts/Chargers/Ravens/Patriots/Bengals,in the Superbowl - not a chance

    I'm interested to see so many people pick Johnson as offensive rookie of the year when WRs production in their first season is terrible and he'll be third WR (with Shaun MacDonald pushing him for that).

    Yup. It is a predicition. And I find it to be mildly delusional. But whatever - I think that trying to predict everything that is going to happen in a season is more than a little silly anyway.

    This is for your own team: NY Jets

    Season record: 9 - 7 or 10 - 6;
    Best player: Vilma will probably have a huge year as the rumours are he should be properly adjusted to the 3 - 4 scheme;
    Best rookie: Revis will be the only one who gets a big chance to make an impact;
    Most looking forward too seeing: I'm intrigued as to how Thomas will fare over the course of the season. Maybe Chad and Coles can get back to the good ole days;

    They're not ****ed. They will be better in terms of overall talent than they were last year. However, they have a much tougher schedule and arguably the best team in the NFL within their division (the patriots - whom they must lose to twice).

    I think they might sneak into the playoffs, but would then be away from the meadowlands for those games - which generally makes winning a title almost impossible.

    didnt think they must lose to the Pats!!!:p

    the Jets have usually been a stern test for the Pats (as the Dolphins have for some reason). Think the Jets can do well this year, and get to the playoffs.

    Hi Dearg,

    I admire your optimism. But, while Harrington has looked good in pre - season, check out his overall record. He has had opportunities to do it as a starting quaterback and never really delivered. While you could argue that he will have some better talent around him this year; the playbook and the personnel was brought in with Vick in mind. On the most basic level, Harrington is a completely different type of player. I wouldn't wish bad tidings on any team - but I would be very, very surprised if the Falcons end up 10 - 6 or better.

    Good luck.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,030 ✭✭✭heyjude

    Harrington will need to show something that he hasn't shown so far if he is to save the Falcons season, but hey if the improbable wasn't possible then there would be no point in watching/playing the games.

    True, true. But we have been losing more than half of the close ones - and getting blown out the rest of the time. I'm never expectant when we go to Foxwoods.

    Anyway, the horses are out of the gate. Let us gogogogo.

    was a tough game for the Jets alright. But as a Pats fan, it was class seeing Brady throw a pass to Welker, then another to Moss, another to Stallworth, Maroney on a run, Morris on a run, another pass to Watson etc. That play action to Moss for the TD then and leaving 3 Jets players in his wake, just gets the blood going for the season ahead. Didnt realise until after either, thats the Pats 7th win in a row over the Jets at the Meadowlands, think its the longest current away winning streak. Oh, and the return by Hobbs for the TD too, unreal return!

    Yup. The Pats looked very good. No surprises though tbh. Good O - line buys Brady plenty of time in the pocket (particularly when the Jets decided to blitz with a lower than expected frequency :mad: ). And Stallworth, Moss and Watson are genuine targets. Add the times Faulk is in the backfield and the fact that Welker will live in acres of space for much of this year and things are looking very good.

    There will be much tougher tests ahead however. Defensively the Jets were terrible yesterday. The sets were wrong a lot. We missed Dyson very badly. And we were generally soft against the rush (like last year :( ).

    Wow. Bad start.

    first look again at all the predictions!

    Havent looked through everyones to see how people fared, but I did fairly sh!te anyway!

    I got 3/8 conference winners right, and one other playoff place (Giants) out of the other 4. Fairly pi$$ poor!

    Calvin Johnson and Gaines Adams as rookies of the year??? I dont think so!

    Most improved team, Cardinals, not too bad, not far off playoffs, but I think the award for that has to go to either the Browns or the Packers.
    Most improved player, Cutler, solid year, developed well, but probably not most improved. Maybe Welker? Anderson?

    For Pats, I predicted 12-4, so wrong again. Brady/Maroney as best player, so half of that right. Best rookie Meriweather, maybe, but not too many rookies there to step up to the mark. And I was looking forward to WR's not dropping sitters, and nearly had that up til Moss against the Giants (altho he made up for it in the following play)

    Yeah, a lot of people laughed when I predicted 13-3 for the Pack. I got 5 of the division winners right, not bad. Very far out with the Jets. I picked Cutler to be the breakout man, too, but Ryan Grant has to be the most improved non rookie, surely? Compared to last year, Randy Moss was a monster, so it depends how you set the criteria. I picked Favre as the MVP, and he wasn't far off, either.

    An ugly 4-4 for me on conference winners. Half right on Off Rookie with Peterson and a possibility of another one with Def Rookie for Patrick Willis. 13-3 for Pats so wrong there obviously and very wrong on Laurence Maroney as most improved player. Looked forward to Brady going long to Moss though so that worked out nicely!
