Cash Games at CHL's

I've just been speaking to Luke about the various cash games on offer and he's said that if there is enough interest he will start doing different games.

We had a round of each the other night with omaha/7-stud on offer, which was a great game, and a break from the regular Hold'em/omaha norm.

The idea is that if there is enough interest for stud and so on, we can have a game on a dedicated night of the week.

Say we know that at least 8 people want a regular game, then you know it will be there on a Thursday for example.
I don't think it will be big enough that it will be on offer every night and that way people don't get disappointed if its not on.

We are already running a regular proper €100 Omaha game on a Tuesday and Friday which is fantastic.
The blinds are €1/€2, stacks are usually around 100-200bb deep at the start
and there is a max on your buy-in to both preserve the game and the players.

So the reason for this thread is to get feedback from people to see if they would be interested in playing different games and if so what night suits them.
    We'll do the rest.

Try and get a regular 2/5nl game going after you have higher buyin tourneys each week. I dont know of any other card club that spreads that game and I can see it being a success attracting new members.

The problem with getting a 2/5nl game going is that most people aren't properly bankrolled for it, which leads to a game that lacks integrity.
By this I mean, if a few people decide to take a shot at this and bust out, the game dies very quickly or if over a period of time people end up doing their tanks, where does that leave the game?
The idea is to give people a game that they are comfortable with. I know Luke doesn't want to see people doing all their dough because they are in over their heads as this leads to complications down the line.
As I said, the games have suitable buy-ins to both protect the game and the players.
Maybe I'm wrong, and there is enough interest for such a regular game, this is what this thread is about. It would be good if others could post opinions and suggestions and see what the feedback is like.

There have been €1/€2nl games going for anyone that would like to start there.

This can be arranged, no problem, anyone else interested?

    Paul,

What about a HORSE cash game? I like a bit of O8 and Razz but rarely played either live. Although this would probably turn into a dealers choice game because limit holdem sucks!

It doesn't have to be included Tony. Once everyone is agreed on the format it would be played as a round of each.
You could have ORSE, HOSE, HAS, etc..(and no, before anyone comments, etc is not a game):p .

Really what we want is to give the players a game that they will know is available on a given night.
Instead of turning up and asking if there is enough players to get a HORSE game going, you can know with confidence that it will be there on an evening that suits everyone.

    Hi
Can you advise where CHL's is and what sort of tournaments and cash games generally go on each night of the week. What sort of numbers do the tournaments generally get and what time the cash games kick off at and what the action is like.
I've only ever been in the Fitz but that was a couple of years ago and recently in the Sporting Emporium. I've heard people talk of the Jackpot and that there are occasionally cash games there but I'm afraid I don't know anything about CHL's.
    Thanks

Cool Hand Luke's can be found at 81 Merrion Square. next to the FAI offices. Its where the old Merrion Casino used to be.
Tournaments have be averaging around 30-40 runners. The structures are great. Click the link for the schedule. tourney-schedule-chl.jpg
Cash games usually start around 10pm, and are very lively.

    Thanks for that Cuban Son
Just read that it's Luke Ivory that took over the old Merrion to open CHL and now can't wait to give it a go. My experiences with Luke from the times I used to be in the Fitz were nothing but exemplary, he's truly an excellent and innovative director with an astounding memory for names and I wish him all the best of luck with the new venture.
