Interrail Ticket or Not? Confused...

Heading on a euro trip. Flying to Budapest then planning on interrailling to vienna, bratislava, prague, berlin and finishing up in Amsterdam. 12 days in total I have. So what I'd like to know is am I better off getting the "5 travel days in a 10 day period" pass or opt for no pass at all and pay as you go?

I've read loads of conflicting posts here and still don't know what would the best option be?

    any help guys/girls?

The only way to know for sure is to look up the cost of individual tickets for the days you intend on travelling and compare them to the interrail pass.

The cheapest tickets are often advance booked tickets so you would need to be sure of your schedule to buy them online before you leave.

Walk-up tickets to buy at the time of departure are also a possibility but make sure you know how much they are before going as at certain times some routes can be very expensive, I would be surprised if these worked out much cheaper than the inter-rail pass.

If you want to be more flexible with your travel then the inter-rail pass would probably be best.

The German Railways website should give you the fares and times so you can work out for yourself how much the individual tickets would cost.
