Also I have an old creative zen touch which i need to retrive some data from. Thing is the touch pad is broken and the palyer is stuck in recovery mode and when switched on "firmware problem" comes up but i cant reboot unless i get the scroller/touchpad fixed. Anywhere in Dublin do repirs like this type. Sorry OP for jumping into thread

Only place I can think of that might do it is a place in North Lotts called GSM Solutions. They mainly advertise as iPod repairs but it's worth trying them. Phone number is: 086 8645104

Your like myself, I went to upgrade my firmware so the Zen Touch deleted the old firmware, trouble is that now the computer fails to recognise the Zen Touch which means that I can't install the new firmware!

Very annoying especially when I'm going on holiday in less than 24hours. I've been trawling the net looking for info on how to fix the problem but there doesn't seem to be one at present for a 3year old player so I guess it's time to bin the thing:(

If it's still under warranty get straight onto Creative - details on their
website - they are one of the better manufacturers for repairing/replacing.

Really, It must be another common problem with zens, another is the ear phone jack, mine broke twice and i got my money back and got a new one awhile after cos i missed it!

i was abit worried that they would think i dropped it or something and they wouldnt fix it. Ill try it anyway and see what they say
