I would just fold the flop.
As played I would do whatever my reads told me to do.
    Any reads?

id also muck the flop. as played though i still fold what can u beat that he will bet out with on the river, only a bluff. id say your lookin at AJ or AT, maybe he had AQd and you got lucky.

im definitely calling the river, he only bet half the pot. I would also call on the flop given the size of the bet.

This makes no sense to me.
Call the flop to do what, a Queen is the only card that u know gives u the best hand and cant be the Qd, and paying him off on the river then is worse, what hands can u beat. he had doubled his bet on every street your giving away money here 95% of the time

i'd never fold that flop, and defo call the river, a guy that's bad enough to donk 1/4 of the pot is gonna turn up with all sorts of weird **** on the river. anyway he only bet 1/2 pot, and you've got top top!

Flop: 2 overcards, a gutshot and position after some idiot bets 1/4 of the pot. (note he still has 15 times the bet left in his stack).

River: I call even though I expect to lose. Do you see why?

ok up to this point I was being polite, but either you are a relative beginner or you are quite bad. Either way you should try and learn rather than talk down, especially when you are wrong

    I call at these stakes.

His bet sizing insists a call.

The flop call is ok, hes giving us 5/1 which just shows how bad villain is and theres no harm in calling to see a turn card for those odds.

Of course i think a fold here is fine aswell because Qd and 4 kings which are are 5 of our outs leave us in a situation where were probably only getting action from a hand that beats us and were left in a bad situation.

And were not getting paid of often enough if any of the other 3 Q drop so its the type of hand if we hit were going to have to control pot size as we cant be comfortable on that board and our opponent could still have lots of outs so id probably prefer a fold as its just not worth it imo.

However nothing wrong with the call and he gives us great odds to call the turn again and our draw has now improved so im definetely not folding for such a small bet even though theres a chance were already drawing dead.

On the river were getting 3/1 and he probably thinks a hand like JT is great here so because i can see from his bet sizing that hes a total donk ill call here expecting to be ahead enough to make it profitable.

Has everyone notice the two diamonds on the flop? And the fact that the pot was not HU and he bet into 3 other players?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,083 ✭✭✭RoundTower

so you put him on missed diamonds and find a sick value raise in case it is Ad8d/AdQd/Ad7d etc?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,083 ✭✭✭RoundTower

I would play the same and call river obviously.

why are you playing 20NL Mick?

    El busto Joe...:)

No not really, ive always been too lazy/tilty to give online a serious go, just the odd tourney here and there so after reading posts from various people i decided to get poker tracker, get pahud, lodge 20 buy-ins and start grinding. Im just starting out low as i think it will be good experience and i should move through the levels pretty quick i hope, if i cant crush these stakes i shouldnt be playing cash at all :D
