Updating Channel lists/Freqs in older FTA receiver

    Hi All,
Got a bit of a problem which im hoping someone may be able to assist with.

Have a Comag SL 55 FTA receiver which has been used up to now to look at Astra I (19 degs).

Re-aligned dish today to Astra II and rescanned receiver. So far, so good.

However, it looks like some channels ie BBC 1 and 2 are not where they 'shoul d be'.Others were not even listed ie FilmFour.
I checked the firmware and its dated June '04 so im guessing that since that date the embedded freqs. have changed/moved/been added.

Is there a way of updating the Channel Lists/Freqs. through the RS323 port on the receiver and if so is there an editor/loader prog to enable me to do this ?

I understand it would be possible to go through say LyngSat and manually scan each new freq but i guess im lazy and if there was an up to date version of firmware (?) which could be easily loaded then it would save a lot of hassle/time.

Thanks in advance for your help.
    gLo.

Is there no option for NIT or Network Scan? This facility adds the frequencies not already known on your STB.

    Hi,
Thanks for taking the time to respond.
I did try a network scan but it only appeared to pick up a few extra channels.

    BBC1/2, Film4 were not included.

    Any other ideas?
    Cheers

A lot of the comag receivers wont find the channels when u do a scan I dont know why, but if u manually input the correct freq they usually will find the channels you want..

    Try the following sites

    http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html

    or
    http://en.kingofsat.net/
