Problems with new wireless data projector

I just bought a Panasonic wireless data projector and I'm having some problems with it.

    Its a Panasonic PT-LB51NTE, http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=339479

I've managed to get the wireless function working, but then the display freezes.. except for the movement of the mouse.

It happens after about 30 seconds.. whatever is there stays there unless I switch off the projector.

I can open new windows on my laptop but the only thing I can see on the projected screen is the moving cursor on the old frozen image.

Any ideas? I cant find the number of Panasonic Ireland tech support.. if there even is one.

    Thanks!

Shouldn't have gone with wireless. They are nothing but hassle :(

    Fantastic conception though.

As a primary teacher I was all for the idea of walking around the classroom with the laptop.

Will Komplett refund me if it isnt working?

    Edit....

I'm making progress. If the wireless card in the laptop isnt fully disabled before starting the wireless application, it has a hissy fit. It seems to work ok if I disable the existing wireless first and then start the application.

There is an error that pops up from time to time though.. runtime C++ error.. so thats nothing to do with me!

Just some advice on wireless projectors.

Wireless projectors are only suitable for displaying something basic like powerpoint where a single slide at a time is required. You will also have a delay in the responce time from the laptop to the projector image.

Some projectors do this well but allot do this very poorly.

A suggestion would be to buy a external wireless adapter which can be used on an display (projector/lcd). You can expect a resolution of about 800 x 600 on wireless transmisions to the adapter, and you simple connect to the adapter like any wireless access point. These adapters are connected to the diaplay with a VGA or DVI connection. The DVI connection also eliminates the requirement for an aditional power-source.

I have used some this type of setup for permanent business installation and found them very reliable and easy to operate. But I say again dont expect a high quality image.

Bad to move the laptop when it's running too. Oddly most are not designed for this. Disk damage can result.

You can get CAT5 adaptors that work with upto 1920x1600 image at over 100m for VGA.

Most Wireless is only 54g. This does not support even VGA well.

You need 108M or 125M super G (at both ends) as a minimum. Probably 802.11n 250Mbps minimum both ends.

Wireless projection is rubbish, and only just manages powerpoint. Compatibility is poor too.

Analogue wireless works very well, but only for standard PAL TV.
