I would avoid it. You get what you pay for. In this case a cheap pile of crap.

engine rebuilt probably means it was crashed which means the forks and body are probaly warped which means you get an extended visit to the hospital

It sounds dodge - it's only an 02 bike so surely he must have given it some abuse if he had to do any major work with the engine already?? If you don't mind me saying - it sounds like you're rushing into buying the bike - maybe the friend is making you think it's a once in a lifetime oppurtinty or something but it's not. There are plenty of bikes out there - I missed out getting the bike I wanted about 2 months ago but got a better one today. This one sounds like a bit of a lemon thou so see what else you can get.
Have you gotten any quotes or looked at any other bikes? Do you know anything about bikes - are you in a position to fix it or will you have to shell out for repairs? Are you going to be using the bike say to go to work - if so are you in a position where you can afford to have the bike crapping out on you and making you late? Maybe hold off until you can afford to buy something say from a dealer where you'll at least get a warranty.

The CR80 is more of an offroad bike, and if its had a rebore, then its either had the guts run out of it or been let run out of two stroke.

It may seem cheap, but even if the engine is sound, if it needs tyres, brakes, chain and sprockets or anything else it wont be long costing you a heap of money.

And has it ever been registered, will you get paperwork with it?

OP, Since you're only 15, I hope you're not intending on taking that out on the road.

this is the most stupid thing i have ever heard! do u actually know anything about motocross bikes skelliser?

These are field bikes which use high performance 2 stroke engines that do blow up from time to time. Piston rings burn out in these very easy due to the hard driving they get.

engine rebuilt does not mean it was crashed, even so these bikes are used for racing and even if it was bounced around a field all day does not mean it will be like scrap.

these motocross bikes are built for very hard driving and of couse it will have been crashed.

i buy and sell motocross bikes as a hobby and if its been rebuilt it means that it either blew up or seized but if it was rebuilt correctly then its a good thing.

    lol

Very few dealers will give a warranty on motocross bikes.

A rebore on a high performance stroker is fine. Once the new piston rings have been put in correctly afterwards and it's been run in. Off road strokers need this done from time to time but be aware of other costs and check the chain as this goes quickly on the off roaders.

was just thinking that as i was reading this thread - i ride motocross bikes as well as road bikes and to be honest, i wouldn't buy a 2 stroke crosser that hasn't had a rebuild, at least you know its fresh.

Price is too cheap for an 02 though, have a '92 CR 125 at home and it will still fetch over €1000
