blinds are 1k-2k, about to go up to 1500-3000, 3 handed all on about 40k mark (there's 128k in the game). This is an unremarkable hand but got me thinking at the time.

    prize money is 1st: 450, 2nd: 250, 3rd, 150.

the way 3 handed and 4 handed has been playing min raises are getting through unless met by a push. there's alot of pushing going on preflop largely as stacks are shallow enough. the hand in question i'll explain how it was played by aodea, then how i thought it should have been played ( iw as watching over his shoulder).

    the way it was played:
anyways, button limps in, small blind completes and big blind (aodea) looks down at Q2off suit. bb checks. pot 6k

flop comes down KQ6 rainbow. sb checks, bb leads for 6k, button dwells and calls. sb folds. pot now 18k.

turn is a blank, bb checks, button bets 6k and bb folds.

the way i think it should be played: when they limp into the bb lead for 4k. risking 4k to take down 6k with the chances being that the button will eitherpush over the top or fold, sb is 99% gonna fold here i think. if they fold, we take down 6k uncontested. if button pushes we fold for a loss of 6k total, rather than 8k in the original way it was played. equally we avoid a decision on the turn like we had to face.

aodea made a valid point that if we lead for 4k, and button calls, we see a KQ6 flop with a 14k in the pot and we'll have to lead at such a flop for at least 8k, thus costing us 14k in total as we have to fold to a push.

    so...
    1. how do we play this hand preflop?
    2. how do we play the flop if we checked preflop? how do we play it if we bet preflop?
    3. how do we play the turn if we get there?
    4. or am i reading too much into a meaningless Q2 hand? :p

If the turn plan is to c/f, I prefer leading flop with 32o than Q2o

eh, i check pf, check flop, and try to get to showdown cheaply. i may call a turn bullet and fold if he fires again on the river. if its checked around on the turn i vb the river.

would be alot easier in position.
