    Hi all,
Im eyballing the TM P90 as a possible purchase.. what im trying to decide is should I go with the regular one or the TR with the silencer..

I have never actually seen the TR in real life.. Ive seen the one without the silencer so my question is if I went with the TR and was upgrading it down the road would it be possible to put in a much longer inner barrell.. that is could the inner barrell potentially extend into the silencer?

i did that on my old p90 couple years ago.
you can get from 25cm to 45cm inner barrel length - which is a real nice precision and range gain i can assure you. (even better if thats a precision barrel ;))
be careful though, dont hit the silencer against walls too much, else the muzzle assembly will just bend.

you buy an extened outer barrel, make sit look like the reals steel civvie version. Kinda defeats the purpose, i think it th TR looks good with silencer on it though. the real difference betwen tht two is there is a built in red dot oon the standar one, haven't seen the standard one in the fleash so so can't reallt comment if its any good.

but to answer your question yes you can with a little bit of modifaction :)

The built in scope on the regular P90 hasnt got brilliant eye relief and lacks rails. Not so the TR.

And yes, depending on the silencer type you should be able to use it to disguise a longer inner barrel. Extremetaz has a similar set up for his G36c.

i have the TR version, it's nice, the silencer actually does work a little bit, but i dont think ive used it in quite a while tbh.
Havent really tried the built in red dot on the standard p90, but i got a red dot from ehobbyasia and stuck it onto the TR and it's quite good, plus you have the added benefit of the extra rails.

also, the TR is dark grey rather than black like the normal one, personally i prefer this.

Sorry for completely ruining your thread by the way Fetch. I'm sure we can attempt to get back on topic.

There are reports of players using the P90 in woodland games and a compact markmans unit and the evidence seems to support this.

1 joule upgrade spring, 6.04/3 long inner barrel (using a barrel extender/silencer to cover the extention in length out to about 40cm'ish) and maybe an upgrade of gears and the humble PDW becomes a frighteningly lightweight and compact ranged AEG.

The rate of fire on the P90 is none too shabby either spitting them out at around 900rpm (no idea about the rof upgrade potential) so with a decent red-dot on top you have marksman in semi and suppressing fire in auto while still maintaining the CQB usage due to the size.

    At least thats the theory.

to get decent ROF you'll need those L shaped custom batteries (which require to cut a plastic part near the motor)
    definitely a must have.

have one of them in mine, get 17rps (1020rpm) with it installed, never measured how fast it runs on an 8.4v battery, but then again, mine fires at 1J aswell so that alters the speed a bit. I got mine pre-upgraded from redwolfairsoft, but it's not that hard to remove the required bits once you've seen what needs to be done

Yeah I was looking at a possible preupgrade through redwolf but I recently got hit pretty bad with customs duty on stuff from them so I may buy it stock from somewhere more local and do the work myself... nothing like opening up a 200€ bit of kit and tinkering with it when you dont have a clue :)

Does anyone know if there is a good place for online tutorials that might help me with this?

Actually, forget that....I'm reporting this post as abusive in nature.

I've acknowledged I have a problem, (i.e. - joining the UGC, and buying a FAL) and I find it extremely upsetting that you ridicule me and my illness in public.
Its a sickness - I am in no way responsible for it. *I'm* the victim here !

Edit -Let me keep this on topic: the P90 is hideous. Why not a FAMAS?

Well two reasons first I broke the fire select switch on my first AEG and now am exceptionally paranoid about doing it again. The fire select on a P90 is very chunky and located in a good spot...

Second I like Stargate and would dig having the same gun used in the series... yes i am a huge nerd :)

    Have FAMAS, will hose ye'

I must have a thing for FN because I bought a FAMAS, I will buy a P90 (for back up cqb), I happen to like the full length FAL and I think the FN2000 isnt quite as sickening as folks are making it out to be.

Mind you, I also think the SCAR is a goddamn pig so there is really no acounting for taste.

    P.s.
No, I'm not Belgian, I dont really like jazz and I do not approve of cruelty to geese :D

    Thats an excellent reason, actually.
Are you going to try go for the whole load-out ?

I saw pics somewhere (Arnie's I think?) of a guy with the Stargate gear and it looks pretty cool.

Ah well... can't fault you for that (not a fan, but the film was OK-ish)
    I suppose that:
    P90%20PARTS.JPG
kinda looks alright. Approaching Armalite standards, so defo acceptable :D

Thats not a bad idea.. I jumped onto ebay... a tenner for the patches...
Already have an OD tac vest and combats just need a shirt and cap and im good to go.

Would be a pretty cheap loadout to get... thanks for the idea shiva

mines already at 17rps, with nylon bushings, 1 joule spring, 9.6v motor and _nothing_ else modified, you could easily get 20rps out of it. infact i have a systema turbo motor in my cyma mp5 (running about 20+rps afair) and if i put that straight into the p90 it would easily do the same or more

Fetch: no problem, let me know if/when your ordering it and ill show you what parts you'll need

I would have thought steel or ceramic bushings would have been better? (Forgive my metalurgical and polymer ignorance)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kdouglas

yes, indeed, the nylon bushings are the stock bushings, i have steel ones ready to go into it, just havent got around to it yet.

That reminds me Kdouglas. I still owe you some gears. I'll be placing a small order soon, I just hope I remember to add it to the order.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kdouglas

rabbit: dont worry about it, i had them spare anyway, where you ordering from though? i might want a couple small bits (spares like springs/pistons), we could split shipping?

Well ebay won't let me back into my account (they are accusing my of hacking my own account). So I'll have to go elsewhere. Haven't really decided yet. I need a new rifle case/backpack, some knee/elbow pads, gloves, tact vest with pistol pouch & a digital woodland boonie hat. As soon as I can find one place that had everything I need, I'll be placing an order and will let you know.

ebaybanned.com was mentioned somewhere around here recently... he's an ex ebay seller who was kicked off for some mess regarding ebay's firearms rules... never ordered from him though, so not sure if he's reliable
