    Hi All

Ive just installed XP on an old laptop that was lying around here at work for home use. just wondering what the best freeware security solutions to install. What do you recommend?

    Comodo is the best firewall

For anti-virus it's between these : AVG, avast!, antivira

Real-time anti-spyware protection : SpywareGuard, AVG anti-spyware, these two would be the best

Anti-spyware scanners : AVG anti-spyware, Dr. Web Cureit

    One word: Ubuntu :)

For free anti-spyware, malware, adware with XP-2 consider:
    Spybot Search & Destroy
    Ad-Aware SE Personal
    Spyware Blaster (passive blocker programme)

All three of the above are compatible with each other, too.

The main three free Av's I suppose

    AVG or AntiVir for antivirus

I'm not too fond of Avast but ymmv

if you use spybot then install spywareblaster too and first

Change your browser from IE to
    Opera
    or
    Firefox + noscript
