just in from the pub, caught the last two minuites of panorama on sign zone, and that was the first sentence i heard, anyone else see the whole programme? what was it all about/ your veiws on it??

i learned from the sign-woman that the sign for 'Luftwaffe' is her right hand 'in the shape of an L on her forhead'
and for hitler its your left index finger across your top lip, and your right hand flat, palm out, beside your head, like a 'stop' (not a nazi/ caesar salute, but close enough...)

i also learned that most of these neo-nazis (i think it was a re-enactment, of something..) were just along for the party, and the drinking, and the organisers tried to keep out the radical (right/ left?*) wing elements,

*could never get my head around that one, only if you go far enough right, you meet the other guys coming from the left,,

thoughts/ veiws/ opinions/ what tv are you watching right now??

    Right wing. Conservative.
I'm watching Star Trek. Left wing. Liberal.

If you forget about all the killing and stuff, Hitler was actually fúcking awesome.
He turned Germany's economy around and there was little or no unemployment.

If you weren't Jewish, a gypsy, black, asian, etc., I'm sure it'd be Hitler ftw.

Is that not though because of the amount of resources he poured into the military? Genuine question.

Economies tend to be cyclical; high unemployment means workers will work hard when they get a job and suddenly there's a boom. (And a boom often leads to inflation which causes unemployment.) Hitler took over two and half years after the largest financial crisis ever - the Wall Street Crash of 1929. His timing was perfect for an economy to suddenly recover.

And he pumped cash into building arms - that's how unemployment fell. But that's not exactly a long-term way of building an economy. Unless you plan to wage war for an eternity. Which I wouldn't suggest as a policy to eradicate unemployment.

Reminds me of the quote from the producers (which I'm sure I'm misquoting)

"Did you know that the Fuhrer was a terrific painter? He could do a whole apartment in one afternoon. Two coats!"

    I have no idea.
Primary school history didn't go that deep.
Also, I think my 5th/6th class teacher was a bit of a 'ra head and a fascist.
He also used to rub people's ears.
