How do I touch up the paintwork on a VW Golf?

    Wine coloured, 1996 CL 5 speed (5dr).

There are a few (small) scrapes and chips missing from the paintwork. How do I cheaply fix this?

Is it possible to buy paint in an aerosol? If so, from where, and how much would it cost?

Halfords do excellent touch up kits with 3 individual bottles. primer, lacquer, and paint. they come with nail varnish style brushes with really fine tips, and also pen type ends, like a tippex pen. very handy. cost around 25 quid.

Thanks. How would one find out the precise colour of the car though? The VW website isn't helpful in this regard.

if the scratches aren't too deep, try a cutting compaund first, such as G3, available from your motor factors.
