Hmmm ... given that the first one is due to arrive in Cork at 5.20 on a Friday evening, with 10 minutes to spare for the connection, I'd say you'll be lucky, Plug ... BUT the next Cork-Killarney is at 6.30, getting in approx. 8.10, so even if you miss the 5.30 one it's not an absolute disaster.

    Some trip, though!

p.s. Try the Journeyplanner on the Bus Eireann site Simu gave you, rather than trying to figure it out from the timetables. ;)

Now that you've got all the answers, may I suggest you try this if you'd like to spice up the trip a bit? :D

    From Kilkenny?

He'd have to go to Dublin (or at least Kildare) before switching trains and starting down-country again.

He could get the train to Waterford, and bus to Cork from there I suppose ... don't see much advantage unless he just hates buses.

Trains are infinitely better than buses.

Oh, agreed ... just Iarnrod Eireann seems to assume everyone is going either to or from Dublin. Apart from the layout of the lines, every time they change the timetable they seem to make connections cross-country more farking difficult!

Iarnrod Eireann - All trains lead to Dublin
