Heading up to the Big smoke tomorrow to pick up some gear for euro trip in November. Apart from the great outdoors off grafton street...are there any other decent shops in the city that would be worth taking a look?

    thanks

Millets on Mary Street. There are a few other similar shops nearby there too. Much cheaper than Great Outdoors

And poorer quality stuff too. I guess it depends if it's something you intend to use on a regular basis, you'd be better to invest in some decent gear than buy cheap and replace.

If you can make your way out to The Park at Junction 15 on the M50 there's a superb outdoor/lifestyle store there called 53 Degrees North (or something to that effect). They carry a huge range and have stuff to suit most budgets.

There's another decent place on Liffey Street too, almost opposite the Arnott's entrance.

    Lies

Some of the stuff is cheap and nasty but they also have some of the same brands as Great Outdoors at lower prices. Or they did three years ago, anyway

There are loads of camping shops around caple street, one of which is caple camping.
