USB Cable For Exilim Card 770...

    Hi guys,

I just bought an Exilim Card 770 (http://www.vnunet.com/personal-computer-world/hardware/2170114/casio-exilim-770) Great camera, very happy with it (I just needed a basic, portable digital camera).

The only drawback, however, is the requirement of the mini-dock in order to hook up a USB cable to the unit. Does anyone know if any 3rd-party USB cables for something like this exists? Or alternatively, could someone point me in the right direction, forum wise? :)

    Thanks!

we've got a slightly earlier model exilim at home, needs the dock to charge and upload photos to a pc. Unless of course you have a card reader. You could invest in a small USB SD card reader for a few quid that'll do the trick nicely and possibly alot faster than transferring from camera to pc. Just pop the SD card out of the camera, into the reader and plug into a free usb port. -> http://www.memoryc.com/products/description/NEON_MicroSD-TransFlash-card_reader_USB_Drive/index.html

OR, if you want to be very swish about it, get one of those SD cards that when folded in half, reveal their own USB connector. That way you wouldnt need a reader or a PC! Can't say fairer than that I reckon.

Now there's a smart man (or woman)! ;)

Good thinking with just using the SD Card functionality. I'll get myself one of those USB adaptors. The SD Card adaptors with the fold-down USB jack seem pretty cool, but I'd be worried about the flimsiness of them. The USB dongle, however, would be perfect as I could just throw it in the same carry case as the camera itself!

    Cheers rymus!

As stated, a USB card reader should do ya fine. ;)
