Ryanair hand luggage

Hi, Im a girl and am travelling with ryanair this weekend.

Can I bring a laptop, and a handbag on board the plane?

It says one piece on the website, but normally airlines let you a handbag as 2nd item.

Any body know?

i was just on a flight there a couple of days ago and i'm pretty sure you're laptop doesn't count as luggage, so you're able to have a lappy and a bag. I saw three guys with a laptop case and a bag on board.

At check-in you will be asked what hand luggage you have. You will be allowed only one bag (including handbag) which must fit within the dimensions Ryanair provide.

At Stansted (I don't know about Dublin) you are allowed only one bag through security. This bag may contain two bags but must still be within the allowed dimensions. You cannot carry any liquids of more than 100ml and any less than 100ml need to be in a clear plastic bag.

When you go through security you can buy anything you want in the shopping area and bring this onto the plane irrespective of how many bags this equates to.

I'm sure it's a ruse to get you to spend more at the airport and nothing to do with security.

I am just back from holidays and used Ryanair. I carried a laptop and a massive handbag through no problem. The checkin staff dont ask ( well they have never asked me) so yes youre fine.

try carrying on medical equipment which on the xray looks like a gas mask etc

I've seen massive bags on ryan air, but I guess its possible theyd stop u ,

i brought my lappie kinda attached to my other bag

As insurance, you might bring a plastic bag big enough to fit both of them into.

In my personal experience, most airlines aren’t strict with the laptop, but British airport security is. In the last 2 weeks I have been through Heathrow and Luton with a laptop and the security staff consider it to count as your ONE bag. I get around this my have a skin bag for the laptop which I put inside my carryon bag just for walking up to the security area. Never had any problem in Dublin airport with my laptop as a separate bag.

Correct. The issue is with UK airport security, not with the airlines. They're also more strict on luggage size. A bag I had that I'd taken on numerous flights around Europe and Asia had to be checked in at Heathrow.
