I was just with Sylvester a few minutes ago - he has around 31,000 with the blinds at 600-1200. He's a bit frustrated cos there's no shortstacks at his table.

CardPlayer aren't doing live updates at this EPT but you can find a daily recap under the Poker News section of the main website. And there's a tv show there two from our Norwegian friends.

Live reporting is a nightmare here - the space is so cramped it's impossible to get between the tables properly. The TV crews are hogging the little space there is so it's no surprise really that the updates are a tad sparse.

I'll post a bit later when i see Sylvester again.

    Bren.

Sylvester on about 40,000 with eight to go to the money (64 left, paying out 56) at 10pm Dublin time.

    "Jesus, i've had a dose of 5,7,3,9,6,4,2 - i haven't a card in a month. So i've started to drink"

Still able to damage I'd imagine, blinds are still 1.2K/2.4K/300 right? If he doubles up he'll terrorize the table.

    Cheers Brenden.

Sylvester in the money. Play stopped at 56 for the night. Don't know how many chips he has but he looks in bubbly form, chatting with Michael Greco and drinking a Heineken.

    Well done fella.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,796 ✭✭✭coillcam

Sylvester Geoghegan affectionately known as Vesty is the effervescent owner of the Corrib(Galway) and Crane Club(Mullingar) casinos respectively.

He is on a sick run in the big tourneys this year. 1st in the Macau Cork after a deal, 13th in the $10K WSOP C'ship Omaha and longest lasting Irishman in the Main Event also 120th or thereabouts.

    Go on the Vesty!

He is on some roll. Maybe there is something to be learned from playing that
cpt :D , i know he played quite a few of them. Well the ones in Mullngar anyways, i know this because i played two of them before i found out that there were other tours, better games being ran around the country.

I was just looking at the list, i don't recognise too many names of those left, theres that Dag guy and Giordano, but i don't think there was any other name i recognised.

    and martin wendt of course.

    9.45pm Barca time:

Geoghegan peered through the potted plants doubling as a rail to inform Card Player of a particularly interesting hand. “I raised with Q-Q to 12,000 and got raised and reraised,” he explained. “I had to put one of them on the aces at least so I laid it down. Sure enough on had K-K and the other guy had A-A. Two jacks came on the board and a queen came on the river which would have given me a full house. I know it was the right laydown but I thought for a second about pushing all in.” He rolled his eyes and tutted in disgust.

He's talking serious double through but "i can't seem to bring myself to put the chips in the middle"

2 more players to go before the money jumps to 16,000 euro

Sylvester "Vesty" Geoghegan Eliminated in 22nd Place (€20,900)

Sylvester "Vesty" Geoghegan moved all in with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and Nikolaus Jedlicka called with {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}. The flop was {10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}. The turn was the {7-Hearts} and the river was the {2-Clubs}. Nikolaus Jedlicka took down the pot, as Sylvester "Vesty" Geoghegan headed to the rail in 22nd place.

Unlucky Vesty, wp on getting this far. Big one just round corner.
