Too late for me as I've already invested in buying a wind generator but some of you who have flirted with building your own turbine may be interested in this.

Hugh Piggott, author of Wind Power Workshop and Brakedrum Windmill Plans, will lead participants through the design and build stages in constructing a small wind generator (*~ 1kW").

AFAIK, the course is subsidised by Arigna Leader, details here: http://arignaleader.org/renewtraining/windbyo.htm

As it's over 4 days you may want to stay at the venue, the Gyreum, an experience in itself http://www.gyreum.com/

Mods, this isn't an ad. I've no connection with event...
