    Hi,
My parents have a sky dish and box at the moment, They don't watch that much TV and have cancelled their Sky subscription as NTL is going to be available soon. In the meantime I wanted to set them up with the FTA channels.
What I need to know is what is the easiest (and cheapest) way of doing this.
I was going to buy a FTA reciever but someone mentioned to me that I just need a FTA sky card??
Can anyone help me, sorry if this has been discussed before.
    Thanks
    Sham

No such thing as an "FTA card". The Sky box they have will get the FTA channels; for ease of use you may want to trick it to thinking its in the UK and get them all on the EPG. This is the cheapest way of getting a fair few channels, and is relatively easy to do.

An FTV card will give you the UK EPG, Channel 4 and Channel 5+spinoffs

Perhaps its time to put up a sticky about FTA Vs. FTV ?

Sorry didnt realise there was a FTV and FTA.
So they already have all the channels and just need to organise them?
Is there a tutorial or something about this?
A mate has a dish down the country and he told me he had a FTA card, so thats where I got that from.
    Thanks for the info.

Not sure there is need for another sticky thread.

I'll add it to the Wiki FAQ.

I think there is, this crops up every other day and is also mentioned on another current thread.
